Romsey’s Events and Activities

Romsey is a busy town, especially for it’s size. There is various events and activities taking place all year long. No matter what time of year you visit, you can find something to see and do in this popular Hampshire town. Through out the city, no matter what season, there are fairs, carnivals, shows and festivals to enjoy. Covering a wide range of interests, and dates, you can easily find an event in Romsey you’ll love.

For general activities, there are quite a few gatherings organized during the summer months. The Mayor’s Picnic, for example, features music, various stalls, and even a plastic duck race down the River Test. There is also the Beggars Fair, which is held outdoors, in the streets of Romsey. This fair is free and open to the public, with plenty of live music, dancing, and other forms of entertainment.

For the kids, you can experience the Romsey Carnival in the summer. This carnival spans the course of a week, in the month of July, and is a popular favorite among locals and families. In the winter time, you can also attend a carnival, when all of the christmas lights in the city are sparkling.

For more specific tastes, you can check out the Romsey Show, which is a popular agricultural show. This particular event is held at the Broadlands, where the CLA Game Fair has also been hosted, which is one of the largest agricultural fairs in the world. In addition, there is also the Romsey Arts Festival, which is held ever three years, and features the works of local, talented artists of all kinds.
